My Current Skin Care Routine

I could shout this from a roof top, but I am hoping that sharing this with BWL readers will suffice.  My skin and I have had a love hate relationship over the years. One week my skin would be glowing and the next an absolute mess. Having been so fed up I decided it was time to do something about it. My skin has come a long way and I owe it all the gals at The Aesthetic Skin Clinic and my hero home skin care routine. Don’t get me wrong, I still get the occasional adult acne mountain, but over all my skin has cleared so much that I find myself admiring it in any reflection. Vain?! Yes, but we all love healthy, glowing skin don’t we? If the rocky relationship I have with my skin sounds similar to yours, I am here to help.

So here is my home skin care run down, Thank me later dolls.

I apply a pea size amount of all products on my face through to my neck, stopping at my boobs. I learnt that your face stops at your boobs from the AH-MAZING Zoe Foster Blake after reading her book Amazinger Face. What Zoe Foster Blake says goes, because, well duh she’s Zoe Foster Blake!

I have visited the girls at TASC quite a few times over the past few months. I would still be in the same love hate relationship with my skin if I hadn’t been given such amazing skin care knowledge whilst chatting during treatments. My favourite treatment is microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion exfoliates the skin, unclogs pores and removes dead skin cells. It leaves my skin feeling instantly smoother and clearer. In conjunction with microdermabrasion I sometimes get a medical grade peel to target a specific skin concern. To continue my skin care routine post treatment the girls at TASC recommended some products which have been a major key to improving my skin.

Every morning and night I cleanse my skin with Simply Clean. It is a pore refining gel cleaner for combination or oily skin. I create a lather with a pea size amount and cleanse my face. It removes oil and leaves my skin very clean and fresh.

I am OBSESSED with this product, it is the key to reducing my pimples. Vitamin B3 (niacinamide) helps reduce skin blemishes, sebum and oil congestion. I apply this before my heavier creams. The Ordinary products are also vegan friendly and not tested on animals, tick.

The last step to my morning routine is apply daily moisture, which is a lightweight pore minimising moisturiser for normal or oily skin. It is a great everyday product as it is lightweight, non greasy, long lasting and doesn’t clog my pores. It also feels very luxe on my skin, a daily indulgence.

Once a week I introduce this exfoliating scrub into my routine. It is a mild exfoliating gel with microbeads for combination or oily skin. Including a scrub in your skin care routine thoroughly cleanses pores and helps reduce blackheads.

Skin Ceuticals retinol is another product I am OBSESSED with. It is a refining night cream with .5% pure retinol. This product is used to diminish the appearance of fine line, wrinkles, uneven skin tone and skin discoloration. I mean, come on, is this a holy grail product or what?! It contains a high concentration of retinol and exfoliates the skin. I use it every second night to avoid irritation and flaky skin.

You may have seen this product a lot on social media. It is a cult product and has a large celebrity fan base including Kylie Jenner. I can understand why because this stuff is AMAZE! The spot treatment is a blend of calamine and salicylic acid to clear and soothe pimples overnight. I apply it with a cotton bud before bed directly on the pimple and it dries and clears overnight.

Oh I have so many lovely things to say about this facial spray. It is a refreshing mist with aloe, herbs and rosewater. I LOVE rosewater and jump at every opportunity to spray this product, which is a lot because it can be used for almost anything. I use it to boost hydration before, after and during nearly every step of my skin care routine. I use it to set my makeup, refresh my make up and use any excuse to bathe myself in it. It is so very refreshing. Long story short go and buy this now, RUN don’t walk!

I purchased my Skin Ceuticals products from TASC and Adore Beauty.

I purchased my The Ordinary products from Adore Beauty.

I purchased my Mario Badescu from Mecca.

I am so incredibly happy with my current skincare routine, but I am always on the lookout for amazing skin care products. I’d love to hear your suggestions and thoughts. If you have any further questions about my skin care routine I love to chat with you. Although I am not a skin care professional I highly recommend The Aesthetic Skin Clinc where the lovely girls are, you can also check them out on Instagram @theaestheticskinclinic_
