Overcoming my fear of mixed metals

If my outfit doesn’t match, I literally cannot deal. The shoes, bag and accessories all have to be coordinated. The thought of wearing my yellow gold engagement ring and a sterling silver bracelet together used to be my worst nightmare. I would cringe at the thought of wearing mixed metal jewellery, until something clicked. I had a lightbulb moment and thought, ‘GURLL, you would rock those rose gold rings’, so I did.

Hi, my name is Casey and I overcame my fear of wearing mixed metal jewellery.

Like me, if you too have this fear, I got you covered. Follow these basic steps and you will be slaying the  mixed metal jewellery trend in no time!

  1. Wear black. Nothing beats a LBD. In my case I opted for my Little Party Dress ‘Mandy Wrap Dress‘.  The method behind wearing black is pretty straight forward. Colour and prints add another overwhelming aspect to the outfit. I just can’t handle that. Plus, like they say ‘ I’ll stop wearing black when they invent a darker colour’.
  2. Don’t overdo your hair and makeup. Keep it simple, you want the jewellery to stand out and make a statement. My amazing BFF and hairdresser Hannah, ( styled my hair with effortless curls and volume. I created a glowy make uplook with a bronze smokey eye.
  3. Don’t go in with guns blazing. Start minimal. Choose fine, mixed metal pieces that complement each other. You don’t want to look like Mr T. All jewellery worn is Minimalist Jewellery
  4. Drink cocktails. If you are still feeling uneasy about your new fashion statement, don’t stress you look gorgeous. A few cocktails will make the new experience a lot easier, trust me. I recommend something with sparkling wine.
