Review – Bio-Oil

I am no stranger to Bio-Oil, I used it religiously as a teen. I used to be a petite skinny girl until overnight, BAM, puberty kicked in and I was curvy and covered in stretch marks. I love my curves and to be honest, I never really notice my stretch marks as they are very faint. During puberty, I used Bio-Oil daily and it had a significant effect on reducing the appearance of my stretch marks. It really does work and it is no surprise to me that it is currently the No. 1 selling scar and stretch mark product in 24 countries.

Bio-Oil is a specialist skin care product that can help improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks and uneven skin tone. Its advanced formulation is highly effective for aging and dehydrated skin. It contains beautiful lush ingredients calendula oil, lavender oil, rosemary oil and chamomile oil. As well as vitamins A and E. Although it contains a large quantity of oils the product itself is not greasy on the skin. It is incredibly moisturising and  quickly absorbs into the skin. Bio-Oil has a beautifully subtle scent of rose, which is one of my favorites.

I had not used Bio-Oil for years until recently, and my love for it has sparked again. Although I have no new stretch marks at the moment, I have been using it as a body moisturiser. After a nice warm shower I use Bio-Oil mixed with my favourite body lotion all over my body, focusing on my elbows, knees and heels, where my skin can be the driest. It is so lovely and nourishing, It feels like I have just finished having a treatment at a day spa. In the colder months I don’t use fake tan as often, as there is no need when I am all covered up. When I am pale my skin lacks that glow I love (my skin is almost see through, SERIOUSLY), but Bio-Oil has given my skin a little luster which gives me an added confidence.  Bio-Oil also makes an amazing cuticle oil for when you are doing an at home mani.

Bio-Oil can be purchased at Priceline and Chemist Warehouse.
