Resolutions are usually negative and point out something wrong with us. Us girls are continually guilty of the ‘lose weight’ resolution, am I right? Resolutions are a firm action with no room to move which often lead to failure. Intentions are a positive guide with room to move as our circumstances change. Intentions are a commitment to align ourselves to a particular action. Setting intentions rather than resolutions enables our mindset to do what we want to do, not what we think we should do.  

This year I am setting an intention so that I will not fail resolutions and beat myself up about it, like I have again, and again.

MY INTENTION: To find ways to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle, both mentally and physically.  

A new year brings a clean slate and a positive outlook. To keep my thoughts and actions aligned I will be using STONED CRYSTALS INTENTION CARDS* alongside crystals as a beautiful reminder. Each day I will shuffle and choose one of the twenty-five intention cards and display it in the acrylic frame. The cards are illustrated with positive mantras and affirmations.

  1. Find a quiet place to still the mind It is ideal that when we plant the seed of intention that we are in a restful space where your awareness remains focused on what you are trying to manifest. And remember Intention is much more powerful when it comes from a place of contentment than if it arises from a sense of lack or need so try to make it a frequent ritual that is not only spawn when you are feeling negative or upset. I find either before or after meditation or in the morning whilst having your morning coffee is the best way to start the day.
  2. Develop a positive Intention Before you state your intention it’s important to think about a few things: -What is it that I really seek? -Is it this or something else? -Is it based on want or sense of lack? -What would help me to be a better version of myself? Questions like this will help you help you to turn negative phrased aspirations into positive goals. For example, instead of focusing on the need for more money your intention could be ‘Prosperity flows through me and my needs will be met with ease and grace’. Can you see how this has turned something potentially self- and negative serving into a positive statement that doesn’t actually focus on needing or excess?
  3. State your intention aloud and\or write it down Say your intentions out loud. Voice is an incredible tool that helps to secure the state of the mind. Writing it down is also a fantastic way to manifest, pop these intentions throughout your space to ensure it acts as a reminder to keep your thoughts and actions in line with your intentions.
  4. Surrender your intentions to the universe. The concept of letting go is not an easy thing to do. However, it’s necessary when setting intentions. Guess what? You’re not in control. Embrace it and feel the freedom of not having to try to control everything in your life.

Refilling and reusing my CHEEKI DRINK BOTTLE* will assist me in drinking more water. Not only is my drink bottle luxe but it is insulated stainless steel, BPA friendly and food grade. No nasties will enter my system as drinking from a plastic bottle would. The insulated bottle also keeps my water, frosty – not that it needs too, as I intend to drink multiple litres daily. As a part of my healthy lifestyle I aim to exercise daily, so the water bottle comes hand in hand with that. Drinking more water will also help cleanse my skin.  

In 2018 I will continue my skin care journey with ASPECT*. I have recently learnt how important it is to look after the skin you are in. It’s been a bumpy (PUN INTENDED) road for my skin and I, but now, I can proudly say that I am winning the battle. I have a better understanding of what my skin needs thanks to the AMAZING girls at The Aesthetic Skin Clinic through treatments and advice. I will also be mindful of what I put into my body as it has a dramatic impact on the appearance of my skin.

Mediation is an important factor in my life. It enables me to clear my thoughts, it assists my sleeping and keeps my emotions in check. Through daily mediation using the Smiling Mind App I will start the day with a smile on my mind. Like the Stoned Crystal intention cards, the Smiling Mind App shares positive affirmations and techniques to reach my full potential and enjoy an active and healthier lifestyle. Our minds are very powerful and sometimes can get bogged down in negativity, so I find meditation helps my mental clarity and calms my emotions. I am a big believer that we can all benefit from some zen in our lives, WOOSA. – That reminds me, I need to get in contact with my girl Yoga Al Sole and get my butt into some classes.  

I will be mindful of my eating habits and what I am putting into my body. Instead of a diet, because I have been on 1000 diets and never follow through, I am going to invest in healthy meal options and better educate myself on what I need to put into my body to get the best out of it. The last and most dreaded action to assist me with my 2018 intention is dun, dun, dun – EXERCISE. I will find ways to enjoy exercising by getting outdoors and making it a daily priority instead of a chore. I struggle with healthy eating and exercise and believe that my Stoned Crystals intention cards will inspire me daily to change up my negative thoughts about them.
